No. Carbon primarily addresses certain taste, odor, and chemical concerns, while a softener removes hardness minerals.
Will a carbon filter remove sediment?
Some cartridges can capture particles, but dedicated sediment prefiltration is usually a better first stage when visible sediment is present.
How long does carbon last?
